Emergency Clinician (DVM)

Wilvet South is a privately owned 24-hour emergency/urgent care center in Springfield, Oregon. We strive to provide quality medicine and surgery with a high-touch feel in an actual ER setting. We are looking to expand our team of emergency clinicians. Our full-time doctors work a combination of 10-12 day, swing, or night shifts per month.

Our hospital is equipped with an array of high-quality diagnostic and treatment equipment, including an ultrasound, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, dental machine, endoscopy, ultrasound, a full array of in-house laboratory equipment, including an Imagyst, a Snyder oxygen unit, a vessel sealer, intestinal staplers, multiple anesthetic machines, a ventilator, and an array of monitoring devices.

We have a large open treatment room designed for efficient emergency flow, with multiple wet and exam tables. We offer a bright and open lobby waiting area, separate ICU wards for our canine and feline patients, an isolation ward, five exam rooms, a surgery suite, and a comfort room for the most difficult times. A dedicated ICU nurse is present 24/7 to care for even the most critical hospitalized patients. Our hospital is designed to treat your patients with the best medicine and your clients with compassion in a comfortable, efficient environment.

Veterinary Technician

At Wilvet South the Veterinary Nurse is the primary contact for clients seeking care for their pets. From intake, to work-up, to discharge, the Veterinary Nurse is providing care every step of the way. Working directly with doctors, the Veterinary Nurse is challenged with continuously advancing their skills and education. Success in this position is what allows us to consistently improve the level of care we provide.

This is an overview of the various roles and responsibilities and the duties listed do not encompass the entire position. The Veterinary Nurse must be able to work independently, meet deadlines and work with all employees within the Hospital

Position Requirements

  • Veterinary Assistant/Technician Certification (preferred)
  • Fear Free Certification is recommended
  • Minimum of one year experience as a veterinary assistant in a clinic setting.
  • Commitment to continuing education; minimum of 7 hours of veterinary related education completed every year.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.

  • Provide a high quality client experience; compassionate communication, thorough education, and efficient and accurate medical care
  • Communicate effectively with all hospital positions to maintain high level of care, while supporting our commitment to a positive workplace culture
  • Maintain a clean and functional hospital by making it a priority
  • Complete veterinarian directed diagnostics, treatments and procedures
  • Communicate veterinarian instructions including medication, administration of treatments and at home care. Read and understand medical records for recommendations
  • Proficient use of practice management software and practice equipment
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of the veterinary profession and healthcare recommendations in order to answer client questions, provide education and assist in marketing veterinary services.
  • Perform Veterinary Nurse Assistant duties as needed/able

Client Experience Representative

At Wilvet South, our Client Experience Representatives are responsible for upholding our commitment to the community; we provide 24 hour urgent veterinary care with a client focus to improve the outcome. Working directly with nurses and doctors, the Client Experience Representative ensures effective and efficient care is achieved with excellent client communication and education. Success in this position allows us to strengthen the human animal bond by providing our clients with an impactful experience.

  • Veterinary Assistant Certification (preferred)
